Fidelity Life's New Rapid Decision Mortgage Term Is Gaining Momentum Fast

Our new Rapid Decision Mortgage Term product is rapidly gaining acceptance since its introduction in early September. With innovative coverage features such as limits up to $500,000 depending on age and a 40-year guaranteed level premium period — both unique to the industry — producers are finding it a very attractive alternative to the simplified issue products typical in the mortgage market.

"We are very excited to offer this revolutionary product to the mortgage insurance marketplace," said Mike Honeysett, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "With these new features and our ability to make underwriting decisions quickly, Rapid Decision Mortgage Term provides customers and producers alike a very attractive new way to cover their mortgage needs."

The product utilizes Fidelity Life's revolutionary Rapid Decision underwriting and approval process that enable policies to be issued on a fully-underwritten basis in days, not the months typical of other fully-underwritten products. Because it is fully-underwritten, Rapid Decision Mortgage Term rates are lower than that of normal simplified issue mortgage products.

Rapid Decision Mortgage Term can be issued for 15, 20, 30 and even 40 years and features optional riders including Accident Disability Income, Waiver of Premium, Dependent Child, Accidental Death Benefit, Return of Premium and Other Insured.

Fidelity Life Products, Processes, People a Big Hit with Brokers Alliance, Inc.

In a recent interview with Fidelity Life Connections, Joe Racich, president of Brokers Alliance, Inc., of Fountain Hills, Arizona, said Fidelity Life's success is unprecedented in his 25 years in the insurance business. "It's like watching the stock market except that, in Fidelity's case, the number of apps always goes up," he said.

Brokers Alliance, Inc. offers products from Fidelity Life and more than 30 other carriers to agents nationwide and is one of Fidelity's top producing brokerage agencies in the country. Here's more of what Racich had to say:

FLC: What do agents like best about working with Fidelity Life?
JR: They love Fidelity Life's online application process and phenomenal turnaround time. They also like having complete access to the underwriters. And they really love the way Fidelity Life pays commissions weekly right to their bank account. All of that puts Fidelity Life way ahead of their competition.
FLC: What makes Fidelity Life most appealing to applicants?
JR: Speed and simplicity. Middle income couples who both work appreciate the fact that they don't have to arrange their schedule so a stranger can come into their house, ask them a bunch of questions, poke them with a needle, and make them give a urine sample. In a few days they have their coverage with no fusses and a lot of pluses.
FLC: Are you offering Fidelity Life's new Rapid Decision Mortgage Term product?
JR: Absolutely, and our agents love it. Both the product and the process that supports it far exceeds the competition. There's not another company out there that can do all of the things Fidelity Life is doing. Product, pricing, service — Fidelity Life is way ahead of the competition in every way. In fact, in my 25 years in this business I've never seen anything like Fidelity Life. It's been absolutely amazing!
FLC: What are you hearing about Fidelity Life from agencies around the country?
JR: We get calls all the time from agencies that have heard about Fidelity Life. They see that we offer Fidelity Life products and they want to market them, too. As I say, whether you're talking about Fidelity Life products, processes, people or all three the story's the same: amazing!

Fidelity Life Chief Underwriter Offers Tips for Speeding App Processing

Fidelity Life has revolutionized the insurance underwriting process and can usually approve an application in 48 hours or less and sometimes in as little as 60 seconds! "But it can take longer than 48 hours if the application is not completed fully and accurately," says Fidelity Life's Chief Underwriter Doug Coe.

"If an application is in our underwriting queue more than four hours I start to get worried," says Coe. "Usually the reason for the delay is the application is not complete. Sometimes the application is complete but the information is inaccurate and that can prevent us from issuing the policy at all. Full and accurate disclosure is the best for everyone. Anything less wastes everyone's time," he says.

"In our underwriting we compare the information on each app with the medical, vehicle, and pharmacy data we receive from the reporting bureaus. If the data conflicts with something on the application, we are required to contact the applicant to discuss and resolve the discrepancy. In some cases, we have to close the case and explain to the applicant why and what he or she can do to correct the problem," says Coe.

"It's important that the agent asks all the questions on the application and tries to make certain the answers are complete and accurate," Coe says. "Whenever there's a problem, we notify the agent through the system that we need additional information but we also go directly to the applicant and attempt to resolve the problem."

"Approximately 70 percent of all RD Term applications can be processed and approved in less than 48 hours," says Coe. "Even many of those that need additional attention can be resolved relatively quickly. Most problems can be resolved in a single phone call and, often, the result is the application can be processed and the policy can be issued without further delay," he says. "But even that one phone call takes time so the bottom line for agents should be to make sure all applications are complete and accurate. That will speed things up for everyone involved."
